Abstract
It has been demonstrated that the cause of increased thoracic duct lymph flow in hemorrhagic hypotension is elevated endogeneous catecholamine level in blood, and the administration of norepinephrine to normotensive experimental animals increases the flow of thoracic duct lymph.
This experiment was undertaken to clarify the effect- of nor-epinephrine on -thoracic duct lymph flow in normotension and hemorrhagic hypotension at the level of 40-60 mmHg blood pressure.
The result revealed that the thoracic duct lymph flow was increased during-the administration of nor-epinephrine in normotension as well as in hemorrhagic hypotension, and the effect of nor-epinephfine on increasing lymph flow lasted after discontinuance of the agent.
